    What is Employment Support?

Employment support is defined as any activity or service which helps people find, stay in or progress in employment (work). This could include extra support for those who find it hard to work.

Employment Support is offered in a variety of ways – through JobCentres, Employment Hubs, recruitment services and through various charity and community organisations.

Employment support is key to making sure everyone has an equal chance to find and keep a job that works for them. Employment support is also key to growing our economy, and making sure West Yorkshire is ready to meet future opportunities like Net-Zero.

What are the aims of this engagement?

The engagement will also help us understand the challenges our residents might face, and how we can best offer support regarding careers and employment support and how we can commission and design future programmes that better support our residents.

    What are the next steps?

This public engagement is open for responses from 27 November 2023 to 7 January 2024. After the engagement has closed, the responses received will be used to shape the aims and strategies of the Combined Authority and partners going forward in the areas of Careers and Employment Support.
