Teenage boy playing on the computer at home

From online shopping, entertainment and keeping in touch with friends and family, to work, finding a new job, doctors appointments and accessing public services, digital technology and digital skills touch all aspects of our daily lives.

This trend was massively accelerated by the pandemic. We adapted to living our lives online; we learnt to socialise, to learn, to work, to receive medical advice, to shop, and to find our entertainment, and more, digitally.

With recent developments in areas like AI, connectivity and big data, it’s important that our digital approach as a region can keep pace with these changes.

You might have taken part in a previous consultation on digital in 2019, which helped us to form our Leeds City Region Digital Framework. Now, we’re putting in place a new plan to try and make the most of these new opportunities for the people, the businesses, and the places in our region.

We’ve done a lot of research and spoken to some of our region’s leading digital innovators to come up with some initial ideas for this plan, which we’re calling our Digital Blueprint.

Having a plan for the digital economy that better reflects the central role digital plays in our lives is crucial for the region. It will help us boost productivity, reduce skills gaps and shortages, improve our connectivity, make us attractive for investment and improve the lives of everyone who lives and works here.

Here is a one page summary of the draft plan so far. To develop this plan further, we need you.
