Between 16 September – 14 October 2019, a public engagement was held on the proposed Bramley Bus Interchange improvements as part of the Leeds Transport Hubs & Walking and Cycling schemes.

All feedback received during the engagement has been analysed and used to develop the scheme.

We have now published an engagement report, outlining the feedback we received, and a 'You Said, We Did' document, which highlights how the feedback was used to inform the scheme. You can access both reports in the documents section.

Background

Bramley has an existing, well-used bus interchange. The interchange is served by a large number of bus routes, many of them providing frequent links to multiple destinations.

There is an opportunity to enhance the customer experience at this location to include better waiting facilities and travel information. Upgrading the facilities at this location will provide strong links to local amenities and businesses, particularly the shops near the bus interchange.

On completion there will be five bus stops as part of the Bramley Bus Interchange scheme, four of which are in the existing locations, and a new fifth bus stop will be created in the central reserve.

The proposals for this location are:

• To provide an improved waiting environment and facilities
• To provide better travel information, such as real time information screens
• To provide enhanced, safe, pedestrian routes
• To allow buses only to access the interchange to improve safety, enforced by violation cameras
• To provide segregated loading/ servicing provision for the shops near the interchange

Next steps

Following the engagement exercise, construction will begin in February 2021. Please continue to check the project page for further updates, and let us know if you have any additional questions.
