Normanton Safe Route to School Scheme Questionnaire
Wakefield Council and the West Yorkshire Combined Authority are working together to introduce safe routes to schools via active travel and improve safety across the Normanton area.
We are proposing a number of improvements to pedestrian and cycling crossings giving safer access to schools and the local area. Proposals include reducing the speed limit in the area to 20mph, to align with the broader West Yorkshire Vision Zero programme and replacing damaged speed humps on Wakefield Road.
It is hoped this will help people make more active journeys within Normanton. Your feedback on the proposals will play an important role in informing the development of our plans.
