Compton Road (Harehills) bus stop improvements

We would like to know what you think about our plans for improving the bus stops at Compton Road, Harehills.


Compton Road bus stops are used by a large number of bus passengers. There are multiple, frequent bus services (including numbers 4, 16 and 42) which use this road. It is also a busy walking route.

There is an opportunity to enhance the customer experience at this location through better waiting facilities and travel information.

The proposals for this location are:

• Improved bus stops and an additional shelter
• A “green living roof” on bus shelters with grass / flowers
• Wider pavement to accommodate a bus shelter and improve the walking environment
• Real time bus information
• A slight move of the current informal crossing point

Next steps
This engagement is now closed and feedback is being collated. This feedback will be used to update the plans. Subject to funding approval, the construction of this scheme is likely to take place in 2020.
