Following your feedback additional engagement with local residents around the proposed point closure at Swardale Green has been undertaken in March 2025. The evaluation report is published on www.barwickroad.commonplace.is


We are working in partnership with Leeds City Council to make it safer and more convenient to walk, wheel and cycle shorter journeys including to school, local shops and the centre of Cross Gates 

The proposals include:  

  • Two-way segregated cycle track along Barwick Road, connecting to existing cycle links  
  • New signalised crossings for pedestrians and cycle users over Seacroft roundabout   
  • Wider footways along Barwick Road 
  • Safer and more accessible pedestrian crossings   
  • Changes in vehicle access to Swardale Green   
  • Tree planting along Barwick Road and the opportunity for a pocket park along Farm Road.
