Why are we running this survey?

Published data provides a picture of the current impact of COVID-19 on various transport modes but does not address how people feel about using public transport at the present time and how the pandemic will affect the travel decisions of people who live in, work in and visit West Yorkshire. Carrying out this survey will help the Combined Authority and our partners better understand and plan for the potential impact of COVID-19 on our transport network.

    Who can get involved?

Everyone who lives in, works in or visits West Yorkshire.

How will the information from the survey be used?

This survey will help us understand how people who live in, work in, and visit West Yorkshire are using public transport during the COVID-19 pandemic and how they might want to use it in future. This information will enable us and our partners to respond to changing travel needs.  In line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the privacy notice for this survey (click here to view), respondents’ data will be anonymised, and aggregated, and raw data will be deleted after six months.

Why are we repeating the survey?

Information and guidance in relation to travel is continuing to change as the COVID-19 situation develops, and as the lockdown eases we want to capture and respond to people’s perceptions of public transport and their changing travel needs and habits.

Where will the results be published?

A summary of the results of this survey will be published on this page.
