How were these shelters chosen for improvements?

The shelters were identified by Bus Shelters Limited (BSL), the West Yorkshire Combined Authority’s contractor for the maintenance, repair, replacement and installation of bus shelters.

We have chosen these bus shelters and poles for replacement based on the age, ownership, usage, distribution and condition.

Who can I contact if I have any questions or want to find out more?

My bus shelter is on the list to be replaced, will I need to use a temporary bus stop while this work is taking place?

Yes, during replacement works a temporary bus stop will be provided in close proximity to the bus shelter in question. As each bus shelter is only expected to take two days to replace, any disruption should be minimal.

Will replacement bus shelters be in the same location as the original bus shelter?

Yes, the replacement bus shelter will be placed in the same location.

Why does the replacement bus shelter or pole look different?

As the Weaver Network branding for bus shelters is still to be confirmed, the first 40 bus shelter replacements of this phase are being installed in a neutral grey design and will be re-branded at no additional cost in accordance with the Weaver Network guidelines at a later date. The remaining 112 shelters will be delivered with full Weaver branding once final designs are confirmed. The transition to the new transport brand for West Yorkshire, the Weaver Network, is happening in phases to ensure a smooth experience for passengers. New branding will begin to appear on our website and social media channels, bus stops, shelters, and bus stations as part of general maintenance or planned upgrades to ensure best value for money.

    How is this programme funded?
